Music inspires our souls
to seek perfection
in a world wide web of notes.

Chords bring harmony
to those whose hearts
are open to the unusual.

Prejudice and despair
have no place
in the concert of light.

We dance in tandem
with the outer world
awaiting our turn at the song wheel.

For one who sang so well
there should be no lasting tears
only the harmonious sound
of his amazing performance.

He was part

of our national pysche

the one that makes Canada

proud of its nature.

His eternal optimism

and caring for ordinary people

shines beyond death.

Its simple message

is to be on board

the ship of hope and grace,

sail forward into the future.

Respect your fellow travellers

Accept your destiny.

Perhaps it is the premature falling

of green leaves. How sad they look

on the arid grass. We have nurtured

their presence all summer

but death comes in spite of our efforts

and we are feeling the loss

even before it happens.
